We recently enjoyed a hut to hut tour in the Slovenian Alps, and succesfully climbed Triglav.
It was an awesome experience, but this tips may be useful to anyone out there who hasn't yet experienced the alpine hut culture!

INDOOR SHOES/SLIPPERS ARE REQUIRED. EACH HUT DOES PROVIDE A SELECTION IF YOU FORGET AND DON'T MIND SHARING!

THE FOOD IS PLENTIFUL, GOOD AND WHOLESOME. MENUS CAN BE LIMITED IN SOME HUTS...but how many restaurants can you eat at above 2000m?!

ALL HUTS SERVE A GOOD SELECTION OF ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, INCLUDING SLOVENIA'S EXCELLENT BEER (PIVO).

IF YOU ASK FOR COFFEE, IT AUTOMATICALLY COMES WITH SUGAR AND MILK.

THE TEA IS A MOUNTAIN HERBAL TEA (CAJ), WHICH AGAIN, IS SWEETENED BUT WITHOUT MILK.

YOU CAN TAKE YOUR OWN TEA-BAGS/COFFEE AND ASK FOR HOT WATER.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF LIMESTONE AND CONSERVATION IN THE NATIONAL PARK, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FIND FREE TAP DRINKING WATER IN THE HIGHEST HUTS, SO BE PREPARED TO BUY BOTTLES UP THERE AND DO YOUR BIT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!!

AGAIN, BECAUSE OF LIMITED WATER SUPPLIES, THERE ARE NO SHOWERS IN THE HIGHER HUTS. HANDY WIPES ARE AVAILABLE TO BUY...OR TAKE SOME WITH YOU.

BASIC SANITATION IS AVAILABLE IN ALL HUTS BUT DUE TO THE FRAGILE ECO SYSTEM AND RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE NATIONAL PARK, THE HIGHER YOU GO, THE LESS YOU GET!!

BRING A PLECTRUM IF YOU'RE A GUITAR PLAYER, AS THE SLOVENIANS WILL APPRECIATE YOU JOINING IN WITH THEIR TUNEFUL MUSIC MAKING IN THE EVENINGS.

THE HUTS PROVIDE SINGLE USE SHEET/LINER FOR SLEEPING, BUT IF YOU HAVE A SILK LINER OF YOUR OWN, FEEL FREE TO TAKE IT.

THE STANDARD OF BEDROOMS IS CLEAN BUT BASIC, GENERALLY WITH 2- 4 BEDS PER ROOM. HOWEVER AFTER AN EXHILERATING DAYS HIKING YOU'LL BE SURE TO SLEEP ANYWHERE.

HUTS WILL DISPOSE OF THEIR OWN LITTER, BUT BE PREPARED TO CARRY DOWN WHAT YOU CARRY UP.

Please don't let any of the above tips make you doubt your decission to hike with "Mountain Pearl of Europe" in the Slovenian Alps, as the reward of the scenery, flora, fauna and atmosphere in the huts will leave you looking to come back for more!
